Clean Bandit's Rather Be has served them pretty well so far.

It spent four weeks at number one and crossed the one million sales mark last month.

And on 10 September the track will feature in new arrangement based on the band's debut album, New Eyes, which will be played live on Radio 1.

The performance will be part of BBC Philharmonic Presents… 2014 which will see a range of acts collaborating with the 90-strong orchestra.

Concerts will be broadcast across seven of the BBC's national radio networks, as well as BBC Radio Manchester and will take place between 10 September and 17 October.

American singer-songwriter John Grant performing for 6 Music and 1980s pop legends Culture Club, who will be revisiting their seminal album Colour by Numbers for Radio 2, are also among the artists heading to Salford to take part in the concerts.

Pulp frontman and 6 Music presenter, Jarvis Cocker, will present a special edition of Wireless Nights for Radio 4, while The Symphony of Medinah for Radio 5 Live will relive the drama of the 2012 Ryder Cup.

The series will also include a section of BBC Radio 3's In Tune simulcasting with Blue Peter live on CBBC as part of the BBC's Ten Pieces schools project and BBC Asian Network celebrating the music of one of India's greatest film composers RD Burman.

Ending the series will be a poignant reflection on World War One as the recollections of a Salford man are set to music and performed live on BBC Radio Manchester in IWM North, part of Imperial War Museums.

They will be joined by presenters from each station including Zane Lowe from Radio 1, Sara Cox from Radio 2 and Suzy Klein from Radio 3.

Simon Webb, general manager of the BBC Philharmonic, says: "Following successful BBC Philharmonic Presents… performances in 2011 and 2012, the series returns this year to celebrate the launch of BBC Music with an outstanding line-up of varied and imaginative collaborations."

Tickets for all shows in the BBC Philharmonic Studio are free and will be allocated via random ballot with 30% of tickets going to local residents in Salford.

Tickets for the final concert are not free and will be available from Quaytickets.
