Name?
Rachel Barr.
How old are you?
18.
Where do you live?
I'm from Bathgate, but I'm at university in Edinburgh.
What do you do?
I'm a sociology student.
Kids?
No.
Why haven't you voted before?
I'm only just 18 but I'll definitely vote this time. You don't have any right to complain later if you've not had any say in the first place.
What's the big issue for you in this election?
Everyone's saying just now, if you're a graduate, it'll be really hard to find employment. I think I'd vote for a party that would reassure me that there's a job waiting for me once I've left university.
What's the first thing you'd do as Prime Minister?
I think getting people interested in politics is important. At the moment, it's just the elite, it's for people who understand it and that's it.
People need to be able to engage with it again so that they can scrutinise, and they can engage with it. Ordinary people need to be able to have more of a say in the way the country's run. So cut out the jargon!
