Man airlifted to hospital after Snowdonia fall

A man was airlifted to hospital after falling while abseiling in Snowdonia.

The middle-aged man, part of a group of three from north west England, fell 15ft (4.5m) near Capel Curig on Wednesday night.

He was winched aboard a Sea King from RAF Valley, Anglesey, and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor complaining of head and back injuries.

Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team volunteers were also called out.
