April Jones was playing on her pink and purple bike when she disappeared last October
The parents of April Jones have released a photo of her on the bike she was playing on when she disappeared last October.
April is photographed on the bike - later found abandoned against a fence - on the green near her home in Machynlleth, Powys.
A family friend said: "April loved her bicycle and was always riding it around the estate with her pals."
April was last seen on 1 October last year.
Her parents Coral and Paul had let her stay out late after she received a good report at her school parents evening.
April's disappearance sparked one of the largest police searches in UK history. Officers are still continuing to search the countryside around the town.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Currently there are 16 search teams involved in the operation.
"This consists of police search advisers, 16 dog teams and a Dyfed-Powys Police search cell of eight members of staff, which drives the logistical support."
* Mark Bridger, 47, from Machynlleth who has been charged with April's murder and perverting the course of justice, is to appear in Mold Crown Court on Monday.
