The incident happened at The Priory nightclub in Aberdeen
A teenager who assaulted a man who then fell 30ft from a balcony in an Aberdeen nightclub has been sentenced to six months in custody.
Kristofer Scott, 19, of Torphins, Aberdeenshire, admitted punching Edgar Teniuch at The Priory in June, after drinking more than a litre of vodka.
The victim suffered head and back injuries.
Sheriff James Tierney told Aberdeen Sheriff Court such a "reckless" assault required a custodial sentence.
A charge that Scott lifted 25-year-old Mr Teniuch over the balcony was earlier deleted.
Came round
Depute fiscal Alan Townsend told the court: "Witnesses on the dance floor heard a thud. Mr Teniuch appeared to be unconscious at that time.
"He was on the floor. Thankfully, he came round. The accused had made off at that point."
Scott told police he had been struck by someone and was retaliating.
Defence lawyer Graeme Murray said his client appreciated how lucky he was not to have faced a more serious charge.
