Ricky Walker died after a "violent and sustained assault", police said
Two men have been charged with the murder of a man at a flat in Scarborough.
Richard Walker, 50, known as Ricky, was the victim of a "violent and sustained assault", North Yorkshire Police said.
His body was discovered at a property on Princess Street at about 16:30 BST on Thursday. Officers are trying to establish the events leading up to his death.
Two men, aged 39 and 42, will appear before town magistrates on Tuesday.
Both men have also been charged with two counts of robbery, although the alleged offences are not connected to Mr Walker's death.
A 54-year-old has been released on bail and another 54-year-old man was released with no further action, officers said.
'Altercation'
Det Supt Dai Malyn appealed for witnesses and said he specifically wanted to speak to an elderly couple.
"There was an altercation between an elderly couple driving a dark-coloured Vauxhall estate car. We know Ricky wasn't involved in this altercation, but that he was a nearby witness to it.
"I am appealing for the couple from the car to come forward as soon as possible as we believe they may have important information that could assist the investigation."
Mr Walker was last seen wearing a grey cap and dark jacket. He also frequently carried a satchel-type bag.
Anyone who saw him between Tuesday 18 October and Thursday 20 October is asked to contact officers.
