Nine people arrested as part of investigations into alleged corruption at Cleveland Police have had their bail extended until January.
The delay is to allow the Crown Prosecution Service time to examine seven case files and decide on potential criminal charges.
Operation Sacristy senior investigating officer Ken Lawrence said the evidence was "extremely complex".
Ten people have been arrested and seven men and two women remain on bail.
The force's former deputy chief constable Derek Bonnard was sacked for gross misconduct and has been told he will not face criminal charges in relation to his arrest.
Former Cleveland Police Chief Constable Sean Price is among those on bail.
Warwickshire Police started the criminal investigation in May 2011 into "people with current or past associations" with Cleveland Police Authority.
The cost of Operation Sacristy and disciplinary hearings has reached £3.8m since allegations were first made.
