Primrose Lane is due to reopen later today
Two people have died after the car they were travelling in crashed into several trees and caught fire.
Fire officers called police to reports of a car fire in Primrose Lane, Frostenden around 01:30 GMT.
Once the fire was extinguished, two bodies were found inside, both of which are yet to be formally identified.
A police spokesman said details of the accident were still being pieced together, but that a full investigation was under way.
Officers said the car had collided with a number of trees before coming to rest.
A police spokesman said: "Details are not known at this stage, but a full investigation is taking place."
The road is expected to re-open later.
