In April, he was convicted of nine offences against four girls who were aged between six and 15 at the time of the offences.
Sentencing had been deferred until the end of the second trial.
Police said Shallcross was first arrested in October 2013 after a report was received from one of the girl's parents.
Following the sentencing, Det Insp Lisa Cumberbatch, from Staffordshire Police, said: "Michael Shallcross is a serial offender who preyed on his young victims.
"But his crimes have now caught up with him and he is facing a lengthy prison term."
Shallcross was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which remains valid until his death.
