The human skull was found during a survey of the roundabout, police said
A human skull was found alongside an M54 slip road in Shropshire, West Mercia Police said.
It was discovered by workers doing a survey of the roundabout at junction four, near Telford, on Thursday.
Police were called to the roundabout shortly before 13:30 BST. Highways England was also at the scene.
The eastbound entry slip road was closed for the rest of the day for a forensic investigation to be carried out, the force said.
