Cyclist Louise Wright who worked for clothing designer Paul Smith in Nottingham, died when she was struck by Adam Haywood's lorry
A lorry driver accused of causing the death of a cyclist said he did not realise something was wrong until he heard people screaming and shouting.
Adam Haywood, 30, is on trial for causing the death of Louise Wright, in Nottingham, in July 2014.
He told Nottingham Crown Court he had checked his mirrors while at traffic lights and did not see the cyclist.
The prosecution alleges Mr Haywood had not indicated and hit Miss Wright's rear wheel. He denies the charge.

Mr Haywood, of North Street, Langley Mill, said on that day he had been accompanied by a colleague, they had the windows down and had been listening to Ed Sheeran.
He said he would usually indicate on approach to a junction but on this occasion he cannot remember if he had done so or not.
The jury was previously told Miss Wright, 29, became stuck under the delivery lorry and suffered "catastrophic" injuries as she crossed the junction with Lower Parliament Street and Pennyfoot Street.
Suggested by prosecuting lawyer, James Thomas, that he had not carried out mirror checks before pulling off at the lights, Mr Haywood replied: "No I did check my mirror. But I didn't see her."
He said he initially thought he had hit a post while turning left but could not see anything.

Tributes to Louise Wright were left close to the spot where she was killed including a 'ghost bike'
"As I began to turn my wheel, on the left turn I realised something was not right. I heard a shout from somewhere but I couldn't be certain where it had come from."
He said people were screaming and waving in the street but he did not realise it was directed at him.
"I don't know how long it took me to stop", he said. "I didn't know what had happened."
Witness, Gary Chamberlain who worked with Mr Haywood, said the shock of the crash had a "dramatic effect" on his colleague and it had taken him 14 months to drive again.
The case continues.
