    One of those who commented on our Facebook page, external was Chris Page who wrote: "They have a very beautiful daughter. They made the right choice in following their hearts, I'm sure their experiences could be useful for many facing the tough decisions. Everyone in this situation agonises over it, no-one makes either call lightly. So to try and restrict the information on offer to parents-to-be so that you can 'help' people make the same choice as you is wrong. Let all make their own call, with full support and information not pressure or guilt."

  5. M1 delays are 'disappointment'published at 17:22

    Scott Knowles from the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce spoke to BBC East Midlands Today reporter Mike O'Sullivan at lunchtime and said called further delays to the M1 work was a "disappointment" to business.

    "There's been increased travel time and in time that means increased costs," he said.

    "Clearly this work is essential to increase capacity and reduce congestion and ultimately that is good for business."

  6. Canning Circus road closure in place until the summerpublished at 16:57

    And staying with roadworks, one of Nottingham's busiest inbound junctions at Canning Circus will have restrictions on it until June. 

    The middle lane has been closed for the construction of new student accommodation and it's been causing delays during the morning rush hour.

    The city council says the overall building work won’t be complete until next March.

  7. Roadworks have cost 'hours and hours'published at 16:46

    Alan Taylor from a Huthwaite-based haulier says the roadworks have cost them "hours and hours".

    "The big distribution centres can levy up to £1,000 when you are late and that's something we want to keep away from," he said.

    "And when you are late to customers as well they can refuse a load. We've just had to get on with it and do the best for our customers."

  8. M1 work to create 'smart motorway'published at 16:20

    The works between Tibshelf, Derbyshire and Sheffield have been causing a nuisance to drivers for months with the 50mph speed limit.

    The work has been going on to create a "smart motorway", external which means the hard shoulder is being converted to take vehicles during busy periods and cameras are being added "to manage traffic flow".

    The work costing £205m has been going on since August 2014, and now might not be finished until the end of March.

  9. Robinson joins Burnley after Forest spellpublished at 15:59

    Burnley have signed former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who had been training with Nottingham Forest, on a short-term deal.

    The 36-year-old, who has been without a club since leaving Championship rivals Blackburn at the end of last term, has joined until the end of the season.

  11. Better feeling staff has a 'knock-on effect' on servicepublished at 15:29

    Whether you make scrambled eggs, porridge or a simple toast in the morning, one council is telling its staff to make sure they eat breakfast before coming into work.

    Councillor Andrew Tristram said they were not telling people what they can eat, they were "just promoting the importance of having breakfast" at the start of the day.

    He said those who ate breakfast had better concentration levels and felt better and that "had a knock-on effect of providing a better service to people in Mansfield".

    Morecambe v Mansfield tonight has been given the go ahead after a pitch inspection.

    The Football League had advised an inspection was carried out at the Globe Arena after heavy rain in the north west.

    Kick off is at 19:45.

  13. M1 roadworks to last another five monthspublished at 14:48

    It's been confirmed that delayed roadworks on a part of the M1 won't be finished until the spring - almost a year late.

    Highways England say they've got to "thoroughly test the technology" before opening the system between junctions 28 and 31.

  14. Breakfast 'improves productivity' says councilpublished at 14:36

    I can rarely function without having breakfast in the morning, but there are a lot of people who skip it.

    Now Mansfield District Council is telling staff to eat before coming to work, which they say will help improve their memory and concentration levels.

    Councillor Andrew Tristram said they were trying to promote the benefits of having breakfast before taking it to the wider community in Mansfield.

    He said: "As a responsible employer we want to look after the health and well-being of our staff and are encouraging good practice in this area."

    Now Mansfield District Council is launching a three-day campaign to encourage its staff to eat a healthy breakfast.
