A 39-year-old man from the London area has been confirmed as the pilot of a light aircraft killed in a crash in Northamptonshire.
The accident happened at Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield near Brackley at 12:10 BST on Friday, police said.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is leading the investigation into the crash with local police.
The victim's next of kin have been informed and formal identification of the deceased will take place on Monday.
East Midlands Ambulance Service said crews arrived at the airfield "within minutes" to treat a man who was described as having serious injuries.
