Murdered man 'shot in the back' in Liverpool

A man who was murdered in Liverpool was shot in the back, a post mortem examination has found.

Joseph Cummins, 25, was found injured in Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, at about 2100 GMT on Thursday. He was taken to hospital but died soon afterwards.

Merseyside Police launched a murder investigation and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact them.

Longmoor Lane was closed for forensic examinations but reopened on Saturday afternoon.
