A 25-year-old man has been shot dead in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool, Merseyside police have said.
Officers found Joseph Cummins injured in Longmoor Lane about 2100 GMT on Thursday.
Mr Cummins was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, but a short while later was pronounced dead.
Forensic examinations are taking place in the Longmoor Lane area, between Lower Lane and Copplehouse Lane, while a post-mortem examination is also due.
