Kaiya Blake was found dead at the house on Thursday
A mother from Manchester has appeared in court charged with the murder of her four-year-old daughter.
Chantelle Blake, 31, was arrested last Thursday when the body of her daughter Kaiya was found at their home in Garthorne Close, Moss Side.
A post-mortem examination failed to establish a cause of death and further tests are being carried out.
Ms Blake appeared at Manchester Crown Court where Judge Andrew Gilbart ordered her to reappear on 10 October.
A provisional date for her trial was set as 5 March.
Manchester City Council confirmed they had had contact with the family prior to the incident.
A spokesman said they were working closely with the independent Manchester Safeguarding Children's Board to establish the circumstances of the child's death.
