Dr Sebastian Kola-Bankole is in a critical but stable condition in a Las Vegas hospital
An appeal to bring a junior doctor back to Britain after he was critically injured when he was hit by a truck in Las Vegas has raised over £75,000.
Dr Sebastian Kola-Bankole, from Camden, was on holiday for a friend's wedding when he was knocked down while crossing a road outside a hotel on 15 February.
Friends of the 35-year-old say he normally has travel insurance but they are unable to find any papers.
He is currently in a medically-induced coma in a Las Vegas hospital.
Dr Kola-Bankole, an infectious diseases specialist registrar, has had emergency operations on his ears, arteries and spine, and is described as being in a critical but stable condition.
Campaigners are trying to raise £250,000, external to cover costs for his treatment and to bring him home on a special medical flight.
Alexander Ademokun, who set up the appeal, said the doctor was his "best friend" and a "great doctor" who spent every Christmas volunteering at Crisis to help the homeless.

He said he was "amazed by the generosity" of people who had given donations.
Ros Sarai, a trainee anaesthetic doctor from Harringay, said the appeal had been set up to bring Dr Kola-Bankole to London so he can "have the best care he can".
The injured doctor is from Nigeria but has British citizenship after studying in the UK and working within the NHS for eight years.
The accident is being investigated by Las Vegas Police.
