A man whose son was killed when the car he was in crashed after a block of concrete was hurled at it has appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Nassem Galleze, 17, suffered multiple injuries in the collision with a lamppost on St Norbert Road, Brockley, south-east London, on Saturday.

It is believed the vehicle was attacked on the Turnham Estate and a block of concrete was hurled at it as it left.

Nassem's father, Hakim Galleze, said the family were "devastated".

"People will have seen what happened and they will have heard things; you might be thinking 'do I talk to the police?'," Mr Galleze said.

"Take a look at the car where my son died and you know there's only one thing to do for Nassem and our family. Please assist the police."

Officers were called to reports of a fight at about 15:15 BST, which flared up before the car was attacked.

The suspects ran off afterwards, leaving passers-by to rush to the aid of Nassem and two friends, who were in the car with him.

The student was taken to a south London hospital, where he later died.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of multiple injuries, consistent with being in a road traffic collision.

His friends suffered minor cuts to their hands.

Det Ch Insp Noel McHugh said: "Several people rushed to help Nassem and there are some who have yet to speak with police.

"We know the incident was also witnessed by other passers-by and residents in the area and again, we would encourage anyone who saw anything or has any information to come forward.

"Please do not assume that we already have the important information that you hold."

Four men, aged 20, 21, 23 and 19, were arrested on Sunday in connection with the incident, but have since been bailed pending further inquiries.

On Tuesday, two other men were arrested and remain in police custody.
