A man has died after he was found seriously injured on the pavement of a Leeds street.
CCTV operators in the city saw the man lying on the pavement in Merrion Street in the early hours of the morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the man was taken to hospital, where he later died.
West Yorkshire Police said it was investigating the man's death and was in the early stages of its inquiry.
Det Ch Insp Jim Dunkerley said: "We are still working to establish the circumstances of how this man has become fatally injured."
Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
