A murder inquiry has begun after a man died following an attack in Medway.
Kent Police said Paul Scott, of Franklin Road, Gillingham, was out with friends when he was attacked by another man at about 00:30 GMT on Sunday.
Mr Scott, 43, was knocked to the floor and suffered a broken leg.
Police said he refused treatment at first, but later agreed to go to hospital where his leg was put in a cast. On Thursday, he returned to hospital in pain, but died later.
Police said the attack happened near Balmoral Road.
A spokesman for the force said a post-mortem examination revealed Mr Scott had suffered a blood clot.
Officers said they were keen to speak to a man seen in the area at the time who was described as white, about 5ft 8ins (1.7m), with a muscular build and short dark hair.
