
Mowgli was not injured during the incident in Ramsgate in October last year
A 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to swinging a cat by its tail in a street in Kent.
Riain Richards, of Clements Road, Ramsgate, is charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a cat in the town, on 29 October last year.
After appearing at Canterbury Magistrates' Court, Mr Richards was released on unconditional bail until a trial date yet to be set.
The two-year-old cat, called Mowgli, was not injured in the incident.
CCTV footage released by the RSPCA showed the animal's attacker swinging the black cat at arm's length outside the Camden Arms pub in La Belle Alliance Square, Ramsgate, at 08:15 BST.
