Carer accused of taking £287,000 from 102-year-old woman

A charity worker has appeared in court charged with taking almost £300,000 from a 102-year-old woman she was caring for.

Julie Sayles, 58, of Sewerby Road, Bridlington, faces five counts of fraud by abuse of position and two charges under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Ms Sayles did not enter a plea during the hearing at Beverley Magistrates' Court.

She was released on bail and will appear in Hull Crown Court next month.
