Castigador, who pleaded guilty to to killing Teixeira when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court, will be sentenced on 21 October.

He was given a minimum term of 25 years for the murder of the security guards in 1989 before his sentence was later increased to a whole-life order by the home secretary.

Teixeira's death is the subject of an investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.

He was the third inmate to be killed by fellow prisoners at Long Lartin, a Category A jail, since 2013.
