Pair sentenced over Bedworth baby railway remains

A couple who admitted concealing a birth after a newborn's remains were found alongside a railway line have been given suspended jail sentences.

The skeletal remains of the baby were found in September near Queen Street, in Bedworth, Warwickshire.

The remains are thought to have been there since 2014.

Claire Cook, 24, of Bedworth, and James Hamshaw, 23, of Sheffield, were each sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years

At an earlier hearing Cook, of North Avenue, and Hamshaw, 23, of Plantation Avenue, Dinnington, admitted concealing a birth.
