Josh Wills has been living in a specialist hospital unit in Birmingham for three years
A specialist home has been created for an autistic boy previously forced to live 260 miles away from his family.
Josh Wills, 14, from Cornwall, has been living in a specialist hospital unit in Birmingham since October 2012.
His family and friends have conducted a public campaign to bring Josh back to Cornwall.
Cornwall Council has worked with autism charity Spectrum to set up an adapted house with a team of carers and Josh is expected to return within two weeks.
'Support and love'
Ofsted has officially registered the new home in Cornwall following the recruitment and training of specialist staff and visits from staff from the hospital in Birmingham.
Previously there had been no unit in the South West that could provide for him because of his age and the severity of his autism.
A petition calling for Josh to return home received 241,000 signatures.
His father, Phil Wills, said: "The support and love we've received for Josh and for our situation has kept us going."
Family and campaigners held a birthday party for Josh at Truro Cathedral on Wednesday. He will be 15 on Thursday.
