Two men accused of funding terrorism by sending money to their brother in Syria have appeared in court.

Mohammed Iqbal Hussain, 25, and Mohamed Suyaubur Rohaman, 32, from Walsall, West Midlands, each face a charge over the alleged transfer of £10,000.

Mr Hussain also faces three other terror funding charges. Their lawyer indicated they would plead not guilty.

They were remanded in custody by Westminster magistrates and will appear at the Old Bailey on 29 January.

The pair were arrested as part of an intelligence-led investigation on 12 January and charged under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Two other men arrested by counter-terrorism officers in Walsall on 14 January on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences have been released on police bail until April.
