Iain Duncan Smith: Universal Credit 'not about cuts'

The government has defended its controversial reforms of the welfare system, which will see the Universal Credit - multiple benefits rolled into one - introduced.

Speaking to the BBC, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith denied that the plans were a cover for cuts, and said they would provide "positive incentives" for workers.
