Iain Duncan Smith: Universal Credit 'about positive incentives'
The government has defended its controversial reforms of the welfare system, which will see the Universal Credit - multiple benefits rolled into one - introduced.
Speaking to the BBC, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said that the changes were about "improving incomes for people who are doing the right thing" and providing "positive incentives".
"If you take the decision to go to work then we will support you and we will reward you", he added.
