Luke Anderson won £50,000 after winning this year's Big Brother
Chef Luke Anderson says he "feels accepted" after winning Big Brother, which is now shown on Channel 5.
The married 21-year-old chef received the most votes from viewers ahead of former LA gang member Adam Kelly.
At the start of the series he told the housemates he was born in a female body and that he had began to have treatment to change his sex in 2008.
He said: "It's great to feel accepted. A big part of it was about acceptance. I don't think it has sunk in yet."
Luke Anderson looked shocked after being told he'd won the £50,000 prize.
Known to housemates as Luke A, the South African-born Welshman hugged Adam before he found himself alone in the empty house.
Dressed in a dark jacket, shirt and tie he walked out to applause from the crowd and said: "I'm going to miss this place."
Luke's mother and father were waiting outside the house as well as his wife Becki, who was there to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Their reunion came 70 days after he first entered the house.
Lowest figures
In a short interview, he insisted his win was "not about the money" and talked about his bond with 27-year-old Adam, who he described as a "genuine, down-to-earth, solid guy".
"He made me feel safe in that house," Luke said.
Former Crips gang member Adam, from Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, looked happy for his former housemate despite missing out on the top prize.
Nightclub promoter Luke Scrase, 24, from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire was the first to be evicted during the final show, followed by former Miss Edinburgh Sara McLean, 22.
Miss India UK winner Deana Uppal, 23, from Birmingham, was the third housemate to be voted out.
Big Brother first aired on Channel 4 in 2000 but the channel dropped the programme because of falling ratings.
Channel 5 started showing the series in 2011.
Contract manager Aaron Allard-Morgan won last year's show.
This year's show drew its lowest ever viewing figures for a final last night with fewer than two million watching.
The 9pm to 10.30pm show was watched by a peak of 1.7 million and an average of 1.5 million viewers.
Last year's final, which was also presented by Brian Dowling, was seen by a peak of 2.2 million and an average of two million.
