Diddy will train with Navy Seals as he prepares for his role

Music mogul Diddy is to guest star as a New York detective in a remake of classic TV series Hawaii Five-O.

Diddy will play Reggie Williams, an officer who travels to Honolulu to find men who committed a crime against his family.

The rapper will be given weapons training with a US Navy Seal as he prepares for the role.

The episode is due to air in the US in spring, while Sky will give the series a UK debut in February.

Classic series

The new Hawaii Five-O is already a massive hit in America, averaging 13 million viewers per episode.

It follows an elite crime-fighting task force based in Hawaii, and is an update of a classic American series that ran from 1968 to 1980.

It won't be Diddy's first acting role - he appeared in the 2010 comedy movie Get Him to the Greek, alongside Russell Brand.

He also had roles in Monster's Ball and Made.
