Both Sark's government and the Guernsey Financial Services Commission have previously issued advice in relation to a company registry, established in Sark.

However, since posting on their respective websites last month, both have declined to add anything further.

Founder of the Sark Company Registry Dr Stanislovas Tomas said that "there is no law" which prohibits his non-profit organisation from existing.

He wants to use the registry to attract international business to the island, but critics say it's not possible given the lack of company legislation.

Guernsey Police have confirmed there is "no current criminal investigation" into the Sark Company Registry.

Tenants at Guernsey's States-owned Fontaine Vinery will be allowed to stay at the St Sampsons site until the end of June 2018, or six months after a States debate on the future of the site, due by December.

States members passed amended plans at their meeting today, but deputies rejected plans to force the States Trading Supervisory Board to find alternative sites.

Vale Deputy Laurie Queripel said there are still issues with the proposed new sites for relocation.

The father of Guernsey woman Sarah Groves says the man accused of her murder has again failed to appear before the court in Kashmir.

Vic Groves says the Superintended of the Prison where Richard de Vit is being held is concerned about the defendants health. He is said to be refusing medication and was "effectively on hunger strike".

The judge in the case has now ordered him to be admitted to hospital "for counselling".

The next hearing is scheduled for 21 June, which would have been Miss Groves' 29th birthday.

Guernsey Police and island authorities are reminding drone users of their responsibilities, after one was recovered on airport property last month.

So, what can't you do?

• Fly above the height of 122m (400ft) or within two nautical miles of Guernsey Airport, Alderney Airport without permission from air traffic control.
• Fly within 100m of the Guernsey Prison boundary without the prior consent in writing of the Prison Governor or the Director of Civil Aviation.
• Fly a drone with a camera within 50m of a person, vehicle, or structure, or within 150m of congested areas.
• Restrictions on recreational drones are in place around St Peter Port and St Sampsons harbours.
• Recommended flying restrictions also apply to the seafront areas bordering both ports.
• Drones are not permitted to fly anywhere on Sark.

Police are warning that if an operator breaks the laws, they could potentially face a fine of up to £10,000 and up to two years in prison.

The founder of the Sark Company Registry Dr Stanislovas Tomas said "there is no law" that prohibits his non-profit organisation from existing.

Authorities have questioned the legitimacy of a register of companies set up in Sark, an island with no company law.

It means businesses cannot be "registered" there, Chief Pleas said in a statement.

The registry was created in January and designed to attract businesses to Sark, with listed companies having to employee a Sark resident, working from an island office.

The island has no corporation tax, something promoted by Dr Tomas, external.

Landlords could have to show they are trained to work in the drinks industry under a proposed overhaul of Jersey's alcohol licensing laws.

An accreditation scheme could be introduced to replace the current system which requires landlords to apply to the Royal Court.

Politicians and laymen could also replace Jersey's Licensing Assembly as the authority which grant licences to sell alcohol.

Constable Steve Pallett, who proposed the changes, said the measures should give customers "confidence" in establishments selling alcohol.

The introduction of the new laws will be debated by the States Assembly on 18 July.

A health fair could help convicts at Guernsey Prison stay out of Les Nicolles by showing them how to live more healthily, according to one prisoner.

Nigel Ogier, who is currently serving a sentence at the prison, is the gym orderly and said it was a positive event.

The States of Jersey have said measures are in place to reduce nitrate levels in Jersey's water.

High nitrate levels in waste water and agriculture finding their way to the shore are said to encourage sea lettuce growth.

Previously States members such as Constable Simon Crowcroft have said the weeds that grow as a result "smell" and "put off tourists".

A spokesman for the States of Jersey said the Department of the Environment are in the process of building new water treatment facilities at Bellozanne to reduce the amount of nitrates which flow into St Aubin's Bay.

Director of Environment William Peggie said if the new facilities do not prove effective, there are other options, including a de-nitrification facility which could cost up to £30m.

Regional airline Flybe has said its summer and winter schedule to the Channel Islands will operate "as set out”, and that there are "no plans to reduce routes to Channel Islands".

The airline ran up a near £20m loss after previous expansion plans proved too ambitious.

The carrier reported a pre-tax loss of £19.9m in the year to 31 March, despite revenues rising 13.4% to £707.4m.

Flybe said it would start to reduce the size of its fleet after it saw slowing growth in consumer demand.

A 38-year-old labourer has been cleared of rape charges in the Jersey Royal Court.

Marcio Patricio Figueira Dias had been accused of raping a young woman last August and has been in prison on remand since last summer.

A Jersey Royal Court jury of eight men and four women found him not guilty of rape and not guilty of sexual assault.

He was found guilty of one count of attempting to pervert the course of justice by trying to influence a witness.

He was remanded to custody until his sentencing on 21 July for the conviction.

Jersey archers Heath Perrett and Sandra Robinson say the help they've had from Great Britain coaches has been a "huge boost" as they prepare for the Island Games later this month.

Harry Healy and Philippa Lowe have been coming over to the island to give guidance to the archers before they head to Gotland.

"It's great - they come over every month so you get good insight and little tweaks," Robinson told BBC Radio Jersey.

Perrett added: "It's a huge boost to the team to have both Harry and Philippa - they have competed at international level, so to have that knowledge and experience is huge."

Guernsey Police have warned of "significant consequences" of flying drones around the island's airport, after a drone was recovered on airport property.

Police said the drone, which was found on the 21 May, had a functioning camera but no memory card.

They are trying to trace the owner.

A spokesman said: "Members of the public are being reminded that restrictions are in place for small unmanned aircraft. They should not be flown above the height of 400ft or within two nautical miles of Guernsey Airport or Alderney Airport without permission from air traffic control.

"Any breach of these guidelines could potentially endanger aircraft and have significant consequences."

Changes to the way bail conditions are set for people under investigation by the police could "protect victims and witnesses" in Jersey according to a minister.

The proposal, from the Minister for Home Affairs Deputy Kristina Moore, would allow bail conditions to be put in place before a defendant is charged.

She said conditions could include restrictions such as defendants not being able to contact particular people, handing over their passports to stop them travelling, or having to report to the police at agreed times.

The changes are due to be debated on the 18 July.
