Two of Guernsey's teenage athletes have been unveiled as the island's water carriers for the Gotland 2017 Island Games.
Badminton player Carys Batiste, 14, has represented Guernsey this season at senior county level.
Amelia Leas, 15, holds one of the fastest indoor sprint times by a Guernsey woman in the 400m.
The water carriers traditionally play a key role in Island Games opening ceremonies, bringing water from their home islands to be mixed together.

The Channel Islands charity Liberate - which aims to promote equality and diversity across the islands - has launched a new scheme for employers in the form of an accreditation to reward organisations who promote diversity in the workplace.
A spokesperson from the charity said they hoped the scheme, called DIFERA (Diversity, Inclusion, Fairness, Equality, Respect and Acceptance), would "set a new standard on which organisations looking to attract and retain a diverse workforce will want to aspire."
Organisations joining the scheme will undertake an "audit" of their workforce and policies.
The charity then aims to form "diversity champion groups" within the organisation, who will then train their colleagues in the scheme's key values.
The scheme is being launched tomorrow in Jersey, and will be rolled out to Guernsey later.

The States of Jersey have advised that the skate park on the New North Quay will be closed for "annual inspection" until Friday.
The inspection includes assessing the ramps, pipes and other objects used in the park for wear and tear.
The park is set to re-open on Saturday.

A 32-year-old man who robbed a Jersey shopkeeper at knife-point has been sentenced to four years in prison and recommended for deportation, the Royal Court heard.
Pawel Dzielak, who is originally from Poland held up Bruno Alves in his shop, Temple Stores in St Helier on 5 January.
In court Mr Dzeilak plead guilty to one count of robbery on the 24 March.

Guernsey Police are urging islanders to be alert, but to go about their daily business as usual, after a change in the national threat level to critical following the bombing in Manchester.
Acting Deputy Chief Officer Nigel Taylor said: "While the island can never consider itself immune, there is no current intelligence to suggest a direct threat to the Bailiwick and islanders are being advised to go about their daily business as usual, but to remain alert.
"It means the public will see increased numbers of uniformed officers across the island, which may include armed officers at the ports and airports.
"This is designed to reassure members of the public and is a pre-planned local response to the national threat level being raised to critical."

Jersey dog owners are being reminded they could be prosecuted if they leave their animals in a vehicle in the hot weather.
Major Steve Coleman of the JSPCA says the majority of the complaints they receive are about dogs being left in cars.
He stresses it is "against the law" to mistreat your animals and the police have the right to "break into your car and get your animal out", if they feel it is necessary.
Major Coleman says dogs can suffer in a short space of time.

Jersey's education minister has said the island's fee paying schools will have to decide whether to make parents pay more when their subsidies are cut.
The education minister said the decision to cut subsidies to the schools by 3% over the next two years was made as part of the island's medium term financial plan.
For parents, it will mean the cost would go up by around a £160 a year per child if schools decide to charge them more.
Deputy Rod Bryans said the States need to make the savings, and its up to schools to decide how to cope with that.

Tidal energy is not the way forward for renewable energy in Guernsey, according to the President for the Committee for Environment and Infrastructure.
Barry Brehaut said the recently announced idea for a wind farm off the island's north coast was a far more realistic proposal than tidal energy.
He said despite the fact Guernsey is an island, tidal technology "is not viable".

A couple who have refused to move out of the flat they have lived in for 21 years have said Jersey's main housing provider should refurbish rather than demolish their flats.
David and Helga Eves have been ordered by Magistrates to leave their home at La Collette by the 5 July.
Andium Homes has offered five one bedroom flats and say there are another two they could move to.
The couple say none of the properties offered to them has been "suitable."

The group that represents non-finance business in Guernsey has said it is "unclear" whether the island needs a longer runway.
It has been identified by the Committee for Economic Development this week as a way of achieving their critical priorities of economic growth and expanding the tourist industry.
But the chair of the Confederation of Guernsey Industry, Clive McMinn, said the arguments for and against runway lengthening need more research.

Cliff Chipperfield was voted into the role at the Reds' AGM last night.

The States of Jersey's threat level has officially risen to "critical" in line with the UK due to the security border the island shares as part of the common travel area, according to the Home Affairs Minister, Deputy Kristina Moore.
However, a Ports of Jersey spokesman has advised that the island's airports and harbours remain at a "substantial" threat level only.
He said: "Although the general threat level in the UK has risen to critical, the UK Department for Transport has not increased the security threat level at airports or harbours. Therefore, here in Jersey we remain at substantial."
Deputy Moore said: "Police officers will maintain higher visibility in town and firearms officers will be more evident at the airport.
"I would like to reassure islanders that we are working proactively with UK colleagues to ensure the continued safety of the island.”

Jersey Water have applied for planning permission to build a pipeline they hope with improve their control of the level of nitrates and oxadixyl in the island's water supply.
Previous reports have suggested reducing the levels of nitrates in Jersey's water could cost more than £30m.
They say the "submerged bypass pipeline" will offer more protection to the main water supply at the Val de la Mare resevoir.
The project is said to cost in the region of £1.2m.
Pending approval, the project is planned for Autumn 2017.

Jersey's football side will play two friendlies in Ireland next weekend as part of their preparations for next month's Island Games in Gotland.
They will be up against Ireland's best amateur players in games on Saturday, 3 June and Sunday, 4 June.
