Chef Gino D'Acampo is in Jersey this weekend for the first Italian food festival in 30 years. It's being held on People's Park in St Helier.
The first Viva Italia event will feature live Italian music, food stalls, wine tasting and a family area.

Guernsey boss Steve Sharman has hit out at critics of his team as they look to avoid a third Muratti final defeat in a row against rivals Jersey at Footes Lane tomorrow.
Sharman led Guernsey to Island Games gold in 2015 but said his job was in doubt after last year's Muratti loss.

Jersey captain Cav Miley says the Sarnians have an edge due to the bulk of their squad being teammates for the island's club side on a weekly basis.
"I do think they've got a huge advantage over us with the amount they've played together," Miley told BBC Radio Jersey.

It is too early to say what the impact of Brexit will be on Guernsey and it's neighbouring islands says an MEP visiting the island.
Ashley Fox is Conservative MEP for the South West of England and Gibraltar who is on the economic and home affairs committee has been meeting financial experts and senior politicians to inform them about the latest on Brexit.

A new £60,000 skate park at St Andrews Park would be for young people who "often lack good facilities" in the island, says Ted Vibert, chairman of the First Tower Community Association.
The association researched the needs of young people in the area and found there was a lot of demand for a skate park.
The aim is to put it at the north end of the park close to the existing playground, but that is dependent on the planning department giving permission.

The return of the Italian festival in Jersey has "something for everyone" according to organiser Dr Alessio Agostinis. He says they hope to run the event every two years on the same large scale.
He said: "We have some of the last minute panic but we will get there. We have the opening ceremony tomorrow with Gina D'Acampo, children singing and dignitaries to the park."
There is a lot happening at the event including a visit from Ferrari displaying some of their most recent models, Italian food stalls and cooking demonstrations from Gino D'Acampo.

An alcohol free zone is being put in place at Footes Lane in Guernsey tomorrow for the Muratti final between Guernsey and Jersey.
Ch Insp Claire Cuthbert, of Guernsey Police, says they are expecting 7,000 fans to attend the match and plans are in place to try to ensure a trouble free family friendly game.
She says tight ferry timetables mean rival fans won't be able to spend too much time together before and after the match.

An initiative to help children in Guernsey reach their full potential is working because it's bringing health and social care and the voluntary sector together for the first time, says one of the people in charge of delivering the new Guernsey Children and Young People's Plan.
Ruby Parry says the multi-agency approach has halved the number of children in care over the past year.
The plan was launched in 2016 and so far the health and social care team say the number of children coming into the care system has dropped from 36 to 13 and the number on the child protection register dropped from 92 to 29 in the past year.

The head of Jersey Zoo says the organisation had to change its name from the Durrell Wildlife Park to make it easier for tourists to find them.
Dr Lesley Dickie says going back to the original name was also honouring Gerald Durrell's wishes because the founder always called it a zoo.

Aurigny's last Trislander will be on display at Duxford Imperial War Museum from June along with more than 100 historic civil and military aircraft.
The aircraft G-BEVT is being retired at the end of May and will make six charity pleasure flights before finally heading to the museum.
It will be joining the world's premier collection of British airliners and could be seen by hundreds of thousands of visitors per year.

Guernsey Police are investigating two burglaries that happened overnight in the area of Collings Road.
A multi-coloured rucksack containing a fourth generation iPad was stolen from the first property. The bag was recovered but the laptop is still missing.
A set of car keys for a white Ford Fiesta were removed from a different address. The car was taken but has since been recovered.
Officers are urging anyone with more information to get in touch.

Aurigny's last Trislander G-BEVT is going to the Duxford Imperial War Museum where it will go on display from June.
Before that happens there will be a series of special charity pleasure flights in aid of the Channel Islands Air Search.
They will be held in Guernsey and Alderney on Saturday 20 May before G-BEVT heads to Duxford.

Jersey should encourage overseas students to come to the island to study. That's the view of the new head of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce.
Eliot Lincoln said there should be more higher education facilities to make more people want to come and continue their education in the island. He says that would apply to local and overseas students.
Recently the higher education section of Highlands College was rebranded as University College Jersey and is expanding the number of degree courses it offers to provide cheaper higher education for local students.
We have asked the Education Minister, Deputy Rod Bryans, if he would consider opening it up to overseas students and are waiting for a response.
