Earlier we told you about David, from Scarborough, who has been pleading with the NHS to help him and his family cope with his mum Greta's severe Alzheimer's.

    David from Scarborough

Last September, social workers and doctors agreed they were a family "in crisis" and needed additional NHS-funded help.

Despite having a full assessment and approval for support, David says there's been no further progress.

After BBC Radio York highlighted David's case, Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), responsible for funding the care, has admitted it's "taken longer than it should".

    Quote Message

Part of the delay has been down to a change of NHS providers, which we recognise is no consolation to the family. However, that transition is now complete. I’ve spoken to colleagues directly involved with this lady’s care and they’ll be giving the family a call today to talk through their case and explain the next steps fully."
