A County Durham man who raped a heavily pregnant woman has been jailed for nine years.
Durham Crown Court heard the victim was not going to report the rape as she was too scared but a friend convinced her to do so.
She had begged Calvin Chapman, 25, of Kirkfield Gardens in Catchgate, to stop but he carried on the attack.
Chapman denied five charges but was convicted of two counts of rape following a week-long trial. He was cleared of three other sex offences.

A Downing Street spokesman tells me ministers are working to help those who will lose their jobs at the Redcar steel plant.
He said the government is doing "all we can to help workers affected".
The spokesman said it's not clear what Jeremy Corbyn is suggesting the government does to help workers at SSI.

Thank you to Craig who's a shift manager at SSI for sending us this photo.
He says it's the final slabs coming off the line.
The Italian steel plant that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn alluded to in his speech (see below at 14:49) is believed to be the site in Taranto.
A commissioner was appointed to manage the site as owner Ilva, which is a major employer in southern Italy, had faced criticisms over its environmental record.
However it is believed the site had fundamental differences to the plant in Redcar, and that it was managed due to the emissions problems, rather than financial woes.
David Cameron should feel "shame" for failing to intervene to save steelworkers' jobs on Teesside, Labour's annual conference has heard.
Oxfordshire County Councillor Mark Cherry told activists gathered in Brighton the Conservative government are "poverty deniers and crusaders against the poor".
Stockton South Conservative MP and northern powerhouse minister James Wharton said yesterday that affected workers will be supported.

The mothballing of the SSI steelworks on Teesside has pushed other businesses in the area to the brink of collapse.
Andy Kelly from the nearby Workx cafe, which is used by workers at the plant, says he is looking at "survival plans".
He said: "We've decided we're not going to take a wage for the next 12 months if we have to, to keep the business going. What we'll do after that I do not know."

Neil Doyle, from Peterson's Engineering in Redcar, says his company is owed about £150,000 by the company.
Image source, PA"It's been really difficult, we had to cut deep and hard straight away", he said. "Six weeks ago we had 21 employees, and we're now down to 14, and they're all on three months' notice.
"The directors are looking elsewhere for other contracts, and we'll just have to see what happens in the next couple of months."
Excitement is building in the North East as the South African and Scotland rugby players prepare for Saturday's World Cup clash at St James' Park.
The Scotland team received a rousing reception at their base - Newcastle's Royal Grammar School - where children lined up to welcome them.

New Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn continues: "So we stand with the people of Teesside fighting for their jobs, for their industry, for their community.
"And while the company has said it will mothball the plant and lay the workers off, therefore it is not too late now, again, to call on the PM, even at this very late stage, this 12th hour, step in and defend those people.
"Other government's like the Italian government have done the same, why can't the British government? What is wrong with them?"

New Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has attacked the government over its handling of Redcar's steel plant.
In his first speech as leader, he said: "There's no security for 2.8 million households forced into debt by stagnating wages.
"And that's the nub of it - Tory economic failure, an economy that works for the few, not the many.
"Manufacturing still in decline - look at the Tory failure to intervene and support our steel industry as the Italian government has done."

As unions and SSI executives discuss the mothballing of the Redcar plant, there are fears of a knock on effect on other businesses in the area.
The plant's Thai owner announced on Monday that there was "no other option", and 1,700 jobs would be lost.

He is expected to say they could have acted sooner to stop 1,700 people being made redundant.
