A dramatic end to the East Anglian derby sees two late goals as Norwich and Ipswich draw in the Championship.

A special day celebrating the county of Norfolk is to be held at the height of summer.

The event, on 27 July, will be an opportunity to celebrate the county known for its royal connections, Broads, 90 miles (145km) of coastline and medieval buildings.

Norfolk Day follows in the footsteps of its neighbouring county's Suffolk Day, which was held for the first time last year.

BBC Radio Norfolk has teamed up with the Eastern Daily Press, external for the event.

Ipswich Hospital has started an appeal, external to help fund a £2.5m new-look children's department.

The plans include remodelling and refurbishing the department in phases over the next two to three years.

The number of beds on ward will increase from 24 to 26, with more en suite rooms and side rooms available, while clinic rooms will increase from six to 14 and more play areas will be added.

Sarah Smith, children’s matron at the hospital, said: "We are delighted to launch our children’s appeal, which aims to create a modern, welcoming environment which matches the high standards of care which our patients receive.

"We’d encourage anyone who is thinking about holding a cake sale, arranging a sponsored walk or challenging themselves by running a marathon to consider supporting our children’s appeal and helping our dream become a reality.”

A football programme seller with thousands of Norwich City and Ipswich Town match day magazines says he enjoys the "banter" of fans at the East Anglian derby.

David Woolston buys and sells the programmes at both Carrow Road and Portman Road throughout the season, despite supporting neither club.

"It's just a hobby that I turned into a business," he told BBC Look East. "The oldest programme I have from a match between Norwich and Ipswich is a Division Three South game in the 1955-56 season.

"Collectors [like me] are thin on the ground, but people who are committed will collect anything. Whether it's cigarette cards or, in more recent times, Panini sticker albums."

The latest edition of the East Anglian derby takes place on Sunday, with Norwich hosting Ipswich in the Championship at 12:00; commentary will be available via BBC Radio Norfolk and BBC Radio Suffolk, but only on FM radio. Trading standards officers in Cornwall are warning people again of the dangers of asking cold callers to do work on their property.

It follows the case of an elderly couple from St Columb Major who used a rogue roofer.

The man, 55-year-old Peter Foster from Bury St Edmunds, tried to charge them for work he had not been asked to do.

He was arrested and is now subject to an eight-week curfew order.

The elderly couple's daughter Zenita says the whole affair was disgusting and frightened her father.

"He had a knock on the door by a man dressed in a uniform and his two sons saying how dangerous his roof was.

"He was scared."

Waste collections are being reviewed in the Suffolk Coastal district because of concerns over the safety of crews operating bin lorries.

People in five properties in Woodbridge have been told their street is too narrow for lorries to safely reverse down, so they'll now have to take bins to a "communal collection point".

Suffolk Coastal Norse, external, which empties the bins, said changes are unavoidable where roads have become overgrown, narrower or more potholed.

About 40 properties in 19 areas are currently being assessed to check they're safe for bin lorries to access.

A spokesman added it has nothing to do with the death of a binman after a collision with a bin lorry in Chelmsford in December, but that the incident highlights "the real dangers" of the work.

Burglars who broke into a shop in Melton just after midnight were chased by police but managed to evade capture.

Officers arrived at McColl's convenience store on The Street within five minutes of being called about the burglary at 00:10.They discovered the front door smashed in and cigarettes and alcohol had been stolen.

The thieves made off in a Volkswagen Golf estate and it failed to stop for officers on Ipswich Road in neighbouring Woodbridge at about 00:15.

They lost the car and, just after 02:00, Suffolk Fire and Rescue told them they were attending a car fire at Downham Boulevard in Ipswich, which officers believe was the vehicle involved.

Here's a sneak look at what's going on behind the hoarding's on Ipswich's Cornhill, where work on a £3.6m project to transform the look of the town centre square got under way last month.

The project, overseen by Ipswich Borough Council, external, is due to be completed by October. So far, work is focused on clearing the brick paving.

A fallen tree is causing traffic problems on the A1214 Main Road through Kesgrave.

It's blocking the eastbound side of the single carriageway, close to the junction with Bell Lane.

Plans for more than 300 homes on land between the A14 and Whitton on the north west edge of Ipswich have been refused.

Officers at Mid Suffolk District Council recommended the development should go ahead, external, but Claydon and Whitton Parish Council objected to the plans and district councillors have now refused it.

"It's been a long haul," said parish council, external chairman Chris Studd. "But we got the result we wanted.

"We didn't want the land between Ipswich and Claydon encroached because it is a greenbelt and very important for wildlife."

The player was clocked speeding on a dual carriageway in April.

Traffic conditions are returning to normal, after two serious crashes on the A140 within hours of one another.

On Wednesday evening, four vehicles were involved in a collision at Brockford, near Mendlesham.

Then, in a separate incident at Brome at 04:00, fire crews were called to cut one person free after two other vehicles crashed.

The road was blocked for about three hours.

New artwork depicting the The Broads has been unveiled at Norwich Airport.

The installation, which is almost 3m (10ft) high and is more than 16m (50ft) wide, shows some of the national park's best known sights, including dragonflies, mills, leisure boats, a bittern and a traditional black-sailed wherry.

Dave Thompson's image, which was commissioned by the Broads Authority, external, covers much of the meet-and-greet arrivals area of the airport.

"The Broads is a globally-renowned wetland and so it seems fitting to provide an international platform to welcome visitors to the airport," said Broads Authority chief executive John Packman.

Norwich Airport's managing director, Richard Pace, added: "I’m sure the 500,000 passengers that pass through the airport every year will enjoy and appreciate this taste of the Broads."
