  5. Mud warning at Tittesworth as reservoir level hits 50-year lowpublished at 17:09

    More on the news that walkers have reported being stuck on mudflats after water levels at Tittesworth reservoir dropped to their lowest for 50 years.

    More on the blaze in Biddulph which has led the fire service to warn residents living nearby to keep their windows and doors closed due to smoke, external.

    Fire crews from Biddulph and Sandyford are currently at the scene of the blaze which is at a farm on Akesmore Lane

    Crews arrived just after midday and are using two jets to fight the blaze.

    The fire's said to be affecting a large area and smoke is spreading across nearby roads.

    Fire crews are currently at the scene of a blaze near the Gilllow Heath Estate in Biddulph.

    The fire service is warning there's a lot of smoke in the area andlocal residents are being advised to keep their doors and windows locked, external.

    People are being warned the smoke's likely to last for several hours and into the night.

    Water levels at a Staffordshire Moorlands reservoir are at their lowest for 50 years, Severn Trent Water has said.

    Tittesworth, near Meerbrook, provides water supplies for thousands of homes across Leek and surrounding areas.

    But mud flats are forming along the reservoir's edge due to a lack of rainfall.
