• Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Kieran Lee has extended his contract with the Owls. The 28 year old has made a total of 142 appearances since moving to Hillsborough in 2012
• Sheffield United have signed the Bury striker Leon Clarke for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old, who scored 18 goals for the Shakers last season, has agreed a 3 year deal
• Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs says they are preparing to look overseas as they search for a new striker. The Millers have made club record bids for Tom Bradshaw and Lee Gregory but failed to land either of them
• Barnsley head coach Paul Heckingbottom says they plan to have an extended look at trialist Sessi D'Almeida this week

Sheffield schools are to have a fixed Easter break from 2018 following a public consultation on the issue.

The change in policy means pupils will have the first two weeks of April off, regardless of when Easter itself falls.

Schools will still close for the Easter bank holiday as usual but it will mean the half-terms in spring and summer are more even in length.

A consultation with parents and staff found more than 800 out of 1,200 respondents favoured the change.

The campaign to stop trees being cut down and replaced in Sheffield is continuing despite protesters being told they have no more legal options. 

In Nether Edge campaigners have hired an open top bus to allow residents to get a closer look at a mature elm tree that's set to be felled by the Council. 

The rare white letter hair-streak butterfly, external shelters in the tree which is one of the reasons campaigners want it to stay. The council says they've received advice from an Independent Tree Panel and will make a final decision on the tree soon.

A month ago, Rotherham Council launched an action plan to tackle some of the problems faced by people living in the Eastwood area of Rotherham. 

They promised a 'Superblitz' on litter & illegal dumping, anti-social behaviour and the bad landlords who rent out properties there. 

5,000 people live in Eastwood and 30% of them are under 15. We've also learned that there's a 27% turnover of people in the area every year.

SERCO, the company which runs Doncaster prison, say they've been working hard over the past year to improve. 

It comes after figures from the Ministry of Justice revealed standards in jails appear to have got worse in the 12 months to the end of March, with Doncaster being named as one of 6 of serious concern.

However SERCO say a new Director and management team have been appointed and there's been improved training and support for Prison officers leading to levels of violence being reduced.

Campaigners hope a rare butterfly can save a Sheffield tree from being felled. 

They say the white-letter hairstreak butterflies, external are very rare and the Elm is their sole foodplant.

They live in an established Elm tree on Chelsea Road in Nether Edge - the tree (location shown below) has been earmarked by Sheffield City Council for felling as part of it's controversial tree replacement scheme.

People campaigning against trees being cut down and replaced in Sheffield have been told they have no more legal options. 

The work is now expected to go ahead, although the city council have said they will continue to consult residents. 

Campaigners have said they'll continue to fight the tree felling.

Calls have been made for South Yorkshire Police's chief constable to be fired after it emerged he was not facing dismissal for misconduct.

David Crompton was suspended after the Hillsborough Inquests due to "eroding trust and confidence" in the force.

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Dr Alan Billings said Mr Crompton would be required to either retire or resign.

But Liberal Democrat peer Lord Scriven said he should be sacked and accused the PCC of lacking "backbone".

At 09:00 this morning, two cyclists were involved in a collision with a silver Shogun estate on Chesterfield Road. 

One of the cyclists, a 57-year-old man taken to hospital with serious injuries. They're not believed to be life threatening.

The other cyclist was 24 years old. He's believed to have suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the car is not believed to have been injured

The road, between Beeton Road and Derbyshire Lane reopened at 11:45.

Banking group Lloyds has accelerated its job-cutting scheme, axing a further 3,000 posts.

It has also doubled its planned branch closures, with 200 more set to vanish from High Streets by the end of 2017, although we don't know yet how many of those will be in our region.

The bank attributed the cuts to changes in people's banking habits, and the effects of interest rates remaining low in the wake of Brexit.

Police in Barnsley are asking for your help to find missing 15-year-old Lily Lewis.

Lily's described as about 5ft 10ins tall with brown/ginger hair.

She was reported missing 10:00 yesterday when she left her home address in the Ardsley Road area of Worsbrough.

Lily is wearing her hair half up and half down and is also wearing black leggings and a grey hooded top. She is of a slim build and has brown eyes.

A victim of Child Sex Abuse in Rotherham has been shortlisted for a national award for being a positive role model.

The nomination is part of the National Diversity Awards, which are taking place in September. 

Jessica's story formed part of the articles in the Times newspaper in 2013 that first exposed CSE in Rotherham.
