    The chancellor of Oxford University has warned against "rewriting history", in his first public comments over a campaign to remove a statue of 19th-century colonialist Cecil Rhodes at one of the Oxford colleges.

    The university is facing growing pressure to take down the statue amid claims it celebrates the life of a racist imperialist.

    Expectant mothers in Oxfordshire are being weighed as part efforts to tackle obesity in pregnancy.

    Clinicians at the John Radcliffe and Horton hospitals are hoping that talking about the results with women can stop them from gaining excessive weight during their term.

    If we reduce excess weight gain during pregnancy we can measurably improve the outcome for mum and baby. We know that babies born of mothers that are overweight are more likely to be bigger at birth, and that is correlated with childhood obesity.

    People living in Bodicote - which dates back to the Domesday Book - fear their village is being swallowed up by Banbury.

    Pastor Maldonado is in danger of losing his drive at Enstone-based Renault this year as a result of late payment of funds.

    The Venezuelan's sponsor - national oil company PDVSA - pays the team a reputed $50m (£35m), but the money is several weeks overdue, sources say.

    Maldonado, 30, will be replaced by former McLaren driver Kevin Magnussen if the payment is not made soon.

    More people should be funded on the NHS to have excess skin removed after weight loss, according to surgeons.

    The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, external says too few operations are approved by health commissioners.

    But a new report suggests most clinical commissioning groups are unlikely to pay for skin removal surgery.
