    I've just had clarification from Notts Police that the southbound side is open but it'll take a while for the traffic to clear.

    Although with traffic being less busy at this time of night hopefully that shouldn't take too long.

    In other news, a man has been charged with murder after the death of a man in Sneinton.

    A 38-year-old, who's been formally identified as Junior Fuller, was found with stab wounds to his chest in Mill View Close on Sunday and later died from his injuries.

    Dwayne Johnson, 29, from the Meadows was arrested yesterday and has now been charged with murder.

    He's due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

  5. Police confirm murder investigation launchedpublished at 18:18 GMT 16 December 2016

    Police have confirmed they've launched a murder investigation into the death of a 38-year-old woman found injured at a house in Borrowash,

    They were called to the village this morning after a 22-year-old man who had been injured raised the alarm. He's now being treated in hospital.

    Thirty minutes later a 44-year-old man died after a collision with a lorry on the southbound side of the M1 between junctions 26 and 25.

    The M1 has reopened in both directions between junctions 25 and 26. 

    Police are asking people to return to their vehicles if they've left them on the carriageway.

    Witnesses Louise Winson and Michael Nightingale have been talking about what they saw in the aftermath of what appears to have been a bloody attack in Borrowash.

    Some more information from one of BBC East Midlands Today's cameramen.

    He was at the scene of the M1 incident earlier and said he saw a body on the carriageway.

    Police have yet to confirm whether someone died in the incident.

    We've not had any updates from Derbyshire Police for a few hours now.

    All we know so far is a woman died in Borrowash at 11:00

    This is being linked to an incident on the M1, which has closed the motorway in both directions.

    Michael Nightingale, a neighbour from Station Road, said: "I have lived here for ten years and I have never seen anything like this. I don't really know what's gone off. 

    "But he ran into the flower shop and he had stab wounds over his face, the young lad. He ran over the road - that's where they wrapped him up. He was shouting help me, help me."

    A neighbour from Station Road said "Coming home at just gone 11:00 and I saw the police wrapping up a young lad in tin foil he was on the ground, so I drove down into my drive and then a police van turned up and cordoned off the house."

    A definitive answer as to whether the M1 northbound is shut at last.

    It's still closed but the trapped traffic is being released, a Highways England spokesman has told us.

    He said they will let us know when the carriageway does re-open.

    Truth is we're not sure. Derbyshire Police say no but the Highways England traffic cameras tell a different story...

    The side nearest to the camera is the northbound side.
