    Missing climber Aiden Webb sent his girlfriend a location map of his whereabouts, she has told the BBC via Skype.

    Aiden Webb, 22, from Norwich and a former student in Cambridge, became injured while trekking on Fansipan Mountain in Vietnam on Friday and lost his way.

    Bluebell Baughan, who is also travelling in Vietnam, said she was able to give the map to police searching for Aiden, but neither him nor his belongings have been found.

    The evening will be dry with plenty of sunshine. Later on, some areas of low cloud and mist will spread back in from the North Sea, although for many areas it will be a dry night with long clear spells, and lows of 9C (48F).

  6. Missing Aiden Webb: Search is tracking streamspublished at 16:11 BST 6 June 2016

    Two teams are on Fansipan Mountain in Vietnam, searching for missing climber Aiden Webb.

    They are concentrating their efforts on streams, after suggestions by Aiden's friends that he would stay close to water and follow its course down the mountain.

    Sixty people are looking for the 22-year-old, 32 of whom stayed on the mountain overnight.

    A team of forest rangers are due to embark on a three-day search at 08:00 tomorrow.

    Aiden Webb grew up in Norwich and went to City of Norwich School.

    He graduated with a BA (Hons) in drama from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge in 2014, the same year as fellow student and girlfriend Bluebell Baughan.

    “Aiden was a very popular and hard-working student, known for his wonderful sense of humour," the university said.

  8. Missing Aiden Webb: 'I've never had so much fun'published at 15:10 BST 6 June 2016

    Aiden Webb is a fan of free solo climbing, in which the climber performs alone and without using any ropes, harnesses or other protective equipment.

    Just over a week ago, he posted on Facebook that he had completed his first free soloing rock climb.

    "Never had so much fun and never had my mind so clear and empty," he wrote.

    "This is something I've felt I've needed to do in a long time."

    The other three semi-finalists are all from the East Anglian Premier League. That's after Norwich won at North Runcton, Swardeston beat Horsford and Great Witchingham beat Acle away from home. 

    The draw for the semi-finals will be live on BBC Radio Norfolk on Friday at 18:30.

    "The police have said they have 60 men looking today and still haven't found anything," said girlfriend Bluebell Baughan, who is in the nearest township, Sa Pa.

    "The forest rangers will begin a three-day search tomorrow, financed by the [online] fund people have so generously paid into. 

    "This will be in addition to the police efforts.”

    Fansipan Mountain is considered a two or even three-day trek, but Aiden Webb was apparently determined to climb the peak in under 24 hours.

    "He aspired to climb from the top to the bottom in one day," said his girlfriend Bluebell Baughan, who spoke to Aiden via mobile phone during the climb.

    "He was sure he could make it back but by nightfall [on Friday], it was apparent he wasn't going to get back.

    "Aiden said a rock had cut his arm open and he had hurt his knee. 

    "By 6am [on Saturday] he finally agreed to me getting help."

    His phone went dead later on Saturday.

    Aiden Webb hurt his arm and knee when he fell down a ravine while trekking.

    He and his girlfriend Bluebell Baughan are on a four-month trip in Vietnam, where the 22-year-old went missing while attempting to climb Fansipan Mountain on Friday.

    She described him as an experienced climber but said he was hurt after a fall and had lost his way.

    The pair met while students at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

    The girlfriend of missing Aiden Webb has told the BBC he set off alone on Fansipan Mountain

    Blubell Baughan, who is travelling with Aiden in Vietnam, said the 22-year-old went to Fansipan Mountain alone without a guide at 6am local time on Friday.

    She said conditions on the mountain were cold and wet.

    Fanispan Mountain is in the Lao Cai Province in north-west Vietnam.

    • At 10,312 ft (3,143m) above sea level, it is the highest peak in all of Indochina, made up of Vietnam, Lao and Cambodia.
    • It is some way off Everest at 29,029 ft (8,848m) and the world's 100 highest mountains.
    • Known as the Roof of Indochina, it is a popular eco-tourist spot in the region.
    • Hikes arranged by tour companies usually take two to three days, with a small village at almost the halfway point and an overnight camp about 1,000ft (304m) from the summit
    • The nearest township, Sa Pa, is five-and-a-half miles (9km) away.

    Aiden Webb, 22, who grew up in Norwich, was last seen on Friday at Fansipan Mountain in Vietnam.

    His family said he had not taken adequate provisions as he only expected to trek for a few hours.

    He had spent the previous few days "free soloing, caving and mountain biking around the mountains", according to his Facebook page. 

    His father Trever and uncle Michael Webb have flown to Vietnam to join the search and rescue operation.

    A Facebook appeal by his aunt, Lisa Shaw Webb, has been shared more than 47,000 times.

    A 22-year-old man from Norwich has gone missing in a remote part of Vietnam.

    Aiden Webb set out to climb Fansipan Mountain in the north-west of the country on Friday, but his family has not heard from him since.
