    A portrait of Amy Winehouse painted after a chance meeting in a north London pub is to go on sale for £24,000.

    Dan Llywelyn Hall completed his image of the singer in 2012 - a year before he became the 133rd artist to formally paint the Queen.

    His one-off piece, entitled Amy's Glance, was painted after he met the Rehab singer in Camden pub The Hawley Arms in late 2009.

    The Cardiff-born artist said he approached Winehouse and asked to paint her portrait, to which she replied: "As long as you get the hair right".

    She agreed to sit for an hour for the artist when she returned from a holiday in St Lucia, where the Back To Black star ended up staying for eight months.

    Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jnr is make his London stage debut when Chicago returns to the capital.

    The actor will smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn in first role in a musical.

    The show about fame, fortune and jazz set inside a women's prison will begin at the Phoenix Theatre on 26 March after more than five years away from the West End.

    Donald Trump was spotted in Battersea hours after cancelling a UK visit on Friday - albeit in waxwork form.

    Madame Tussauds transported its model of Trump four-and-a-half miles from its Marylebone site to the new US Embassy, in Nine Elms, on Friday.

    The US president branded the embassy "off location" in a Tweet explaining his cancelled UK visit which was due to take place next month.

    Staff from the Embassy, joined by construction workers, crowded around the model and posed for selfies.

    It appears Mayor's Question Time, where Sadiq Khan is grilled by members of the London Assembly on issues of policy, isn't attracting much attention, external from Londoners.

    Just 157 local government enthusiasts tuned in to the question time webcast on October 12 last year, according to a freedom of information request to the London Assembly.

    The sessions received an average of 250 unique viewers each since figures began to be counted in November 2016.

    Counter-terrorism officers have arrested a woman at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of plotting an attack.

    The 27-year-old had just arrived on a flight from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, when she was detained on Friday, Scotland Yard said.

    She is being held on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act under section 5 of the Terrorist Act 2006.

    Police said they had taken the woman to a south London police station, where she remains in custody.
