"In the audience, there'll be other emergency services from around Europe, so instead of sharing our experience just with UK emergency services we'll be spreading it much further afield," he says.

North Kesteven District Council was alerted as felling work was under way in Ruskington near Sleaford.

Within hours, they had issued an interim Tree Preservation Order.

However, one tree had already been felled and three others topped.

Varying in age, with the oldest estimated to be more than 100, the trees are a significant feature within the grounds of Brook House.

They include sycamore, horse chestnut, cherry, ash, pine and lime trees.

Had officers not arrived when they did, in response to public concerns, the damage could have been more extensive than it was, and could have led to all of the trees being lost.

  20. Woman jailed after driving with partner clinging to carpublished at 14:28 BST 5 April 2019

A Lincolnshire woman who drove 200 metres with her partner clinging to the car's bonnet has been jailed for 10 years for his manslaughter.

    Alison SlingsleyImage source, Lincolnshire Police

Lincoln Crown Court heard how Alison Skingsly, 43, was convinced Kevin Nix was flirting with another woman in a pub where they were drinking.

She claimed he had hit her and had driven away for her own safety.

Mr Nix, who was 46 and had three children, climbed onto the bonnet to stop Skingsly, of Spalding, from leaving as she was over the drink-drive limit.

He managed to call the police from his phone while he was on the car's bonnet.

Skinglsy carried on driving and Mr Nix was thrown from the car, leaving him with traumatic brain injuries.

    He died three days later.

Judge John Pini QC told Skingsly he was quite satisfied that she had not been assaulted by Mr Nix and it was a "serious case of manslaughter."
