  3. Christmas message from Lincolnshire Police Chiefpublished at 15:24 GMT 23 December 2016

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Lincolnshire Live

Lincolnshire Police's Chief Constable Neil Rhodes has put out an end of year message.

It'll be his last one as he's stepping down early next year:

    Quote Message

This year the force has faced many challenges – a triple shooting, a double murder conviction, 59 fatalities on our roads. It’s clear there have been plenty of examples of policing at its finest, and toughest... It seems fitting that one of my final projects will be the completion of our memorial garden which pays tribute to those who have died in service.

  5. Jailed: Cannabis farmerpublished at 14:56 GMT 23 December 2016

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

A Boston man who set up a huge cannabis growing operation has been jailed for three years

David Ruck, 62, of Silt Pit Lane, Wyberton converted two out-buildings to produce the drug.

When police raided the buildings on Ruck's land in February they discovered more than 500 plants and cuttings.

    Cannabis

Ruck told Lincoln Crown Court that he was a heavy user of the drug and the cannabis was all for himself; this was rejected by the judge.

Ruck admitted production of cannabis. He was also given a six month consecutive jail sentence after admitting possession of an illegal stun gun.

  7. Fifty arrested for drink- or drug-driving so far this monthpublished at 14:12 GMT 23 December 2016

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Lincolnshire Live

It's a busy time for all of us at the moment especially, it seems, if you're a police officer.

Despite well-publicised campaigns, Lincolnshire Police say the amount of people caught driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol hasn't fallen.

    TesterImage source, AP

The force says 50 people have so far been arrested for the offence this month, a figure broadly in line with last year.

Ch Insp Mark Garthwaite says the numbers are concerning:

    Quote Message

Ten of those arrests have been as a result of our officers attending collisions. There's a clear link there. If you drink and drive you're likely to cause a crash and the consequences of those crashes can be tragic."

Ch Insp Mark Garthwaite, Lincolnshire Police
