    Amazon says its creating a thousand new permanent jobs across the UK.

    A number of these positions will be at the company's new premises just outside Coalville.

    This brings the total number of full-time Amazon permanent UK employees to more than 15,500 by the end of this year.

    On this day of publication of the Chilcot Report into the Iraq War, Harborough MP Sir Edward Garnier has been reflecting on the period leading up to the conflict.

    "I remember being persuaded by Tony Blair's speech in the House of Commons," Sir Edward told BBC Radio Leicester. 

    "It was a very effective oratory and then over the course of the next 18 months it became clear we perhaps hadn't been told the entire truth."

    Leicestershire Police have been speaking about the murder investigation in Abbey Park.

    Det Ch Insp Mick Graham, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our enquiries are continuing today, with officers working in the park.

    "We’re keen to hear from anyone who may know what happened to this man, or anyone with information about how he came to be in the park."
