    A church near Selby has reached its heritage fundraising target after six years.

    Wistow All Saints set a goal of raising £100,000 - but only 600 people live in the parish, so it's the equivilent of each of them raising £166.

    Work will now get underway to restore parts of the building.

  9. Police continue appeal over dead sheeppublished at 17:35 BST 13 June 2017

    Police in North Yorkshire are continuing to appeal for information about 14 dead sheep that were found near Huttons Ambo.

    Warning: You may find the picture below distressing.

    Officers say they think the sheep - 11 ewes and three lambs - died after being chased around their field by dogs.

    It's thought they became distressed and ran into boundary fences.

    Police are trying to find a lorry driver who may have seen a fatal crash near Doncaster last month.

    The images above show the lorry on the M18 near the scene where a car left the road and crashed, killing a passenger.

    He was 17-year-old Gheorghe Ciuca , externalfrom Oldham who died after being thrown from the car which ended up on its roof.

    A man has died after a train hit him close to Todmorden station in West Yorkshire this afternoon.

    It happened just after 13:30 and police say they're are now trying to find out who he is and inform his family. Officers say that his death is not currently being treated as suspicious.

    More than 500 pupils from primary schools across South Yorkshire took part in a challenge today to build a seaside town.

    The Build It event at Kelham Island in Sheffield lasts for four days and is partly funded by the Institute of Engineering and Technology and hosted by the Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust, external.

  14. Man left with serious injuries after brawl in Yorkpublished at 16:46 BST 13 June 2017

    A man in his 20s has been left with serious injuries after "a number of people" were involved in a fight in York.

    It happened at 16:00 yesterday in the Monkton Road and Elmfield Avenue area of the city.

    The injured man is still in hospital after the fight, in which police say that weapons were used. They're appealing for witnesses to come forward.

    A 20-year-old man has been arrested and he remains in custody.

    They're testing how quickly our armed forces can be sent to trouble spots around the world.

  16. Man found in canal identifiedpublished at 16:14 BST 13 June 2017

    Police say they now know the identity of a man that was found in the Leeds Bradford canal earlier today.

    His body was found in the at Dobson Locks in Apperley Bridge just after 07:00.

    It's not thought that his death was suspicious and his family have been informed.

  18. Huddersfield man released by counter terrorism policepublished at 15:52 BST 13 June 2017

    A 29-year-old man from Huddersfield has been released by counter terrorism police after two raids in Yorkshire.

    On 1 June armed officers swooped on two addresses in Huddersfield and Sheffield. People close by reported "loud bangs" at the time.

    The properties were searched by counter-terror officers after police received a tip-off, but officers said the raids were not linked to the recent Manchester Arena attack.

    A 24-year-old man also from Huddersfield remains in custody.

    Do you recognise this man? Police want to speak to him after an attack on a 23-year-old man in Leeds city centre.

    It happened on 29 May at 04:00 outside Dixy Chicken, in New Briggate.

    The victim lost several teeth and needed stitches on his head.
