A man has been attacked with a hammer after a car hit him in Huddersfield.
Image source, GoogleIt happened in the early hours of yesterday morning when a 23-year-old man was walking along Cow Heys in Dalton.
He was walking on the footpath when a grey Volkswagen Golf mounted the curb and hit the man.
The driver then got out of the car and attacked him with a hammer.
The suspects then got back in the car and drove off.
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about the incident

Luckily no-one was seriously injured and police arranged for the car to be recovered.
People on the street were first on the scene and officers say that they rallied around with coffee and biscuits.

Image source, KenowlA burglar who raided a Sheffield house and left behind one damning clue has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Image source, South Yorkshire PoliceNathan Herbert, aged 41, formerly of Stradbroke Road in Stradbroke broke into a house in Intake in November.
He took a number of items from the house as the residents slept upstairs, but he left behind a the stub of a rollup on the floor.
Forensic officers were able to prove beyond doubt that he had commited the crime.
He was jailed for four years at Sheffield Crown Court.

A retired Methodist minister has been found guilty of indecently assaulting four boys after he tried to hypnotise them.
Image source, PAJohn Price, aged 82, from Bedale in North Yorkshire abused the boys when he worked in York and Pocklington during the late 1970s and 80s.
Price was found guilty of all 13 counts of indecent assault on the boys who were aged between 11 and 17 years old at time.
He was remanded in custody and was told he will face prison when he is sentenced on 13 June.
A further day of strike action is set to affect local rail services at the end of this month.
Arriva Rail North, who run Northern rail services, says there will be a 24-hour walk out on Tuesday, 30 May in its long-running dispute with unions over driver-only operated services.

West Yorkshire Police have apparently had to move a van that was blocking Mr Corbyn's bus en-route.
