Police are investigating the suspicious death of another red kite, external which was found in North Yorkshire.
The red kite was discovered in Timble Ings, a large area of upland woodland between Harrogate and Skipton and a well-known hot-spot for birdwatchers.

Red Kites were released on the Harewood, external estate near Otley in West Yorkshire in 1999 as part of a UK conservation initiative.

Greg Eden has been speaking to BBC Radio Leeds from down-under about rejoining Castleford Tigers. The club have signed Brisbane Broncos full-back on a two-year deal.

Greg Eden on agreeing two-year deal to re-join Castleford Tigers from 2017 from Brisbane.
Eden stared his career with the Tigers before moving on to Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR and will return to Super League for the 2017 season.

There's a yellow weather warning for rain in place for West Yorkshire until 22:00. Heavy rain is expected to hit parts of West Yorkshire but not all areas will be affected. There's also a risk of lightening.

Wakefield council says it will express an interest in hosting the start or finish of next year's Tour de Yorkshire. A report to the council's cabinet group advises that the costs would outweigh the economic benefit.
The leader of Leeds Council, Judith Blake, has told BBC Radio Leeds, that after the experience of Leeds hosting the start of the race in 2016, she understands Wakefield's dilemma.
At an executive meeting of Wakefield Council today, councillors voted to tell Welcome to Yorkshire which organises the Tour de Yorkshire, that they would be interesting in hosting the event.

Tributes are being paid to the teenage Huddersfield Giants rugby player who has died. Seventeen year old Ronan Costello was injured in a game against Salford on Saturday.
He was airlifted to the Leeds General Infirmary but passed away today .
Tributes are being paid to the young player.
Rugby Football League (RFL) chief executive Nigel Wood said: "We are all incredibly saddened by news of the death of Huddersfield Giants academy player Ronan Costello. It is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with Ronan's family and friends at this time".

West Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner, external, Mark Burns-Williamson, has pledged an extra £5,000 the proceeds-of-crime fund to help support victims of forced marriage and so-called honour violence.
He made the announcement at a conference in Bradford this morning, where the charity Karma Nirvana raised awareness of how both men and women can be emotionally and physically groomed.
Today the charity, which is based in West Yorkshire, fields almost 7,000 calls a year. Some of those calls are made by youngsters under the age of 10 saying they're being targeted and need help.

There are long delays on the M62 eastbound between the M606 junction 26 (Chain Bar) and the M621 junction 27 (Gildersome). It's also affecting the junction 25 (A644 Brighouse).
Recovery work following an accident is leading to lengthy queues.
Another England fan from Huddersfield has been jailed in France.
Steven Cornell who's 28, was one of two England fans from Huddersfield who have been jailed and banned from France after appearing in a Marseille court charged in connection with the weekend violence.
The other was Alexander Booth who's 20.

A former West Yorkshire Police deputy chief constable had at least two million pounds in Hillsborough inquest legal fees paid by the taxpayer, BBC Yorkshire has learned.
David Crompton, who left West Yorkshire to become chief constable of South Yorkshire Police in 2012, was suspended from his post 24 hours after unlawful killing verdicts were returned at the inquests.

Several victims' families complained to the police watchdog about Mr Crompton's conduct during the inquests. They claim the chief constable "instructed his legal team to pour blame on to Liverpool fans".

Huddersfield Giants Rugby League Club has announced that one of their young players has died after being injured during a match against Salford at the weekend.
17 year old Ronan Costello was airlifted to the LGI on Saturday afternoon.

A jealous husband attacked his wife , externalwith a hammer before slitting her throat and wrists as she was about to leave him for another man. Kevin Miles from Pudsey was jailed for 14 years at Leeds Crown Court, after pleading guilty to attempted murder.
During the “chilling” attack Miles shouted at his partner Alison: “If I can’t have you, no one can.”

Delays in Crossgates in Leeds this afternoon. It's being caused by broken traffic lights on the A6120 Station Road junction.
The First Leeds bus company, external has confirmed that there will be another bus strike following yesterday's industrial action.
Drivers are set to go on strike again on Monday 20th June. More than a thousand drivers didn't go to work yesterday and almost all bus services in Leeds were affected. Thousands of commuters struggled to get to and from work.

The action being taken by the Unite union follows a vote by members to reject the latest pay offer from First Leeds.

Shoppers in Leeds have gathered at the Town Hall to remember the victims of the mass shooting in Orlando. It's one of a number of events planned across West Yorkshire this week.
BBC Radio Leeds Reporter, Charles Heslett, was with them.
Similar gatherings have been held across the UK and in countries including France, Australia and Germany.
The attack on Orlando's Pulse nightclub left 49 people dead and dozens wounded. US authorities say gunman Omar Mateen pledged allegiance to so-called Islamic State shortly before the attack. Several Pulse customers have told US media that Mateen was a regular visitor to the nightclub.
