    Bradford City defender James Meredith has signed a two-year contract extension.

    The 26-year-old Australian has made 43 appearances for the Bantams this season in all competitions.

    Meredith joined Bradford from York City in June 2012 and helped them secure promotion from League Two in his first season with the club.

    Here's the scene at Oakwood Clock in Leeds a little earlier today where its refurbished faces have been reinstalled - with the hands to follow soon.

    Oakwood Clock was made in 1904 as the centrepiece for the new Leeds Market Hall and was moved to its current location near Roundhay Park in 1912.

    The clock was last renovated in the 1970s and had since fallen into disrepair.

  5. Leisure centre brawl 'very unusual'published at 17:13 BST 30 March 2015

    Investigating the mass brawl at Castleford's Xscape centre yesterday evening which involved about 30 men, Ch Insp Darren Wiliams says such an incident "is very unusual for the centre".

    "Clearly this would have been a distressing incident to witness for those attending the leisure park at the time and this sort of behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

    "Inquiries are ongoing today regarding the circumstances of the fighting at Xscape and officers are also viewing CCTV and available footage online."

    BBC Travel reports two lanes are currently closed and there's queuing traffic on the M62 eastbound between J27, M621 (Gildersome) and J28, A650 (Tingley).

    This is due to an accident involving two lorries and a car.

    The Bridgewater Place junction in Leeds will be completely closed from 21:30 tonight due to expected high winds, Leeds City Council has said.

    Diversions will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians around the Bridgewater Place site, which is Yorkshire's tallest building.

    A further closure is possible on Tuesday morning, the council adds.

    It seems that the construction of a new retail area where Millgarth Police Station in Leeds once stood is moving on apace...

    It's only a few months ago that the landmark (but not well-loved) Millgarth HQ in the heart of Leeds was still standing, but then it was just a pile of rubble before the cranes finally moved in.

    The Victoria Gate shopping development which is now taking shape on the site is expected to consist of about 130 shops and create up to 4,000 jobs.

  11. Mass brawl 'like Wild West'published at 15:24 BST 30 March 2015

    An eyewitness to a brawl yesterday involving about 30 men outside the Xscape centre near Castleford says it was "like something out of the Wild West".

    Carl Carritt, who was inside the centre with his three-year-old son as the brawl took place in a nearby car park, says he was left "shocked".

    "There was fighting in pockets all over. I saw quite a lot of people hitting each other. We were a bit scared and didn't want to leave the building," he says.

    BBC Travel reports the A647 Great Horton Road in Bradford is currently closed and there's slow traffic in both directions between the B6380 Cooper Lane junction and the Old Road junction.

    This is due to an accident involving three vehicles.

    Police investigating a burglary in Leeds at the end of last year have released CCTV images of three people they're trying to identify in connection with the crime, external.

    The theft happened at a property in Lupton Avenue on 16 December. Several items of jewellery and watches were stolen.

    Det Con Jess Sellars says: "While we don't have any close-up images of their faces, you can get a good idea of what they were wearing in the CCTV and we hope they'd be recognisable to those who know them."
