    On Look North tonight we hear about radical plans to renew Yorkshire's ageing train fleet.

    The plan is to use refurbished old London underground trains but they're even older than the trains they would replace.

    And a coroner's accused the cosmetics industry of grossly under-estimating the numbers of people who suffer adverse reactions to hair dyes after hearing evidence about the death of a mum-of-two from Keighley.

    A coroner has warned about the dangers of having black henna tattoos and using hair dye after the death of a woman who suffered an allergic reaction.

    Julie McCabe, 38, of Keighley, died in 2012, a year after suffering an allergic reaction to her L'Oreal dye.

    She had black henna tattoo in 2007 and her reactions to her hair dye increased afterwards.

    Returning an accidental death verdict, coroner Geoff Fell said he wanted to raise public awareness of this danger.

    Proposals to run old London Underground trains on routes in northern England would see travellers getting the south's "cast offs", a union has said.

    Refitted District Line carriages are being offered as an affordable way to replace ageing Pacer trains.

    The Rail Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) said it did not want second hand trains on the northern network.

    Thirty-five-year-old underground trains could soon be running on West Yorkshire's rail network.

    The units - currently running on the District Line in London - are being refurbished so they can ease overcrowding, and could be in service as early as next year, when the Northern Rail franchise is up for grabs.

    The firm in charge of the work, Viva Rail, says people won't recognise them once they've been refurbished but Mickey Thompson from the RMT transport union says passengers here are being fobbed off - yet again.

    The trains are being refurbished so they can ease overcrowding. The plan's being criticised by unions who say the north is getting London's "cast offs."

    But Adrian Shooter from Viva Rail, which is converting them, says it won't be a step back in time.

    A verdict of accidental death has been recorded on a woman from Keighley who had an allergic reaction to hair dye.

    Julie McCabe, 38, lapsed into a coma in 2011 after using a hair product at home.

    Scientists will examine whether a sports medicine technique could give patients undergoing cancer treatments a life-changing boost.

    In her final few months, amateur athlete Jane was treated with 'Kinesiology tape', the sort of strapping used by Olympic athletes.

    It helped lift her rib cage giving her organs, which had swollen during her cancer treatments, more space to move.

    Professor Mark Johnson, Professor of Pain and Analgesia at Leeds Beckett University, external said: "Kinesiology taping is a relatively new technique so it has not been used much in cancer settings. As a consequence there has been very little research on the type of patients that may benefit from using it."
